Your iPhone lets you add keyboards for other languages without requiring you to download or purchase any additional apps. This is helpful if you need to access certain characters that are specific to a particular language. But for every keyboard that you install on your iPhone, you need to cycle through those keyboards to find the one that you need. Therefore, if you have added keyboards that you don’t use much, then you have probably decide to delete one of those keyboards.
Fortunately you can remove iPhone keyboards in a manner similar to how you first installed them. Our guide below will walk you through the process.
Deleting a Keyboard That You Have Installed on Your iPhone 5
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 5, in iOS 9.3. This is going to remove a keyboard that you have added through the iPhone Settings menu. Any keyboard removed in this manner will still be available to download later if needed.
Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and select General.
Step 3: Scroll down and touch the Keyboard button.
Step 4: Tap Keyboards at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Tap the blue Edit button at the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 6: Tap the red circle to the left of the keyboard that you want to delete.
Step 7: Tap the red Delete button to the right of the keyboard, then tap the Done button at the top-right corner of the screen.
Note that this does not completely remove the keyboard from your iPhone. It just removes it from being accessible through the keyboard in apps like Messages or Mail. If you decide later that you want to add the keyboard again, then you can do so in the same way that the keyboard was first installed.
